Frequently Asked Questions

If you cannot find the answer you are looking for here then please contact the Parish Office.

Prayer: Where do I begin?

The Bishop of Oxford offers a simple guide on how to get started in prayer.  Try one of the approaches he suggests and find out the best way for you to pray.

If you would like us to pray for you or someone you know, contact us including the name of the person, the prayer request and whether they would like us to contact them, and your prayer request will be included in our prayers through the week in Church.

Has someone you love died ?

Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Funerals are usually arranged through a funeral director, and we are always pleased to work alongside them and help you think about the service you want for your loved one. Someone is always available to pray with you on the anniversary of a death too. Please contact us.

How can I find out more about the Christian Faith?

Click here to read about “What We Believe”
You are welcome to come along to a service at St Marys where Sally or a member of the congregation will be happy to talk to you about what their faith means to them.  Nurture courses for people wanting to explore the Christian faith are also available.

Where can I find information about a burial?

St Mary’s Churchyard was closed in October 1887, and so no burials have taken place since then. Previous records for the churchyard and current records for the cemetery in Charlbury are held by the Oxfordshire History Centre. Do contact us if you need any further information.
