A poem written by Sue Woolley reflecting the joys of technology. (It is set to the tune of ‘I’m getting married in the morning’)
Churchgoers Lament:
I’m getting worried Sunday morning
Ding, Dong, the bells ‘ain’t going to chime
No cheerful ringing
No choir a-singing
Get me to the church online.
I cannot be there Sunday morning
Hearing the Vicar in her prime
No creed or lessons
No intercessions
I can’t find the church online.
If I am googling, I’m bound to fail
Now wait a minute, what’s this on e-mail?
I’ve been to church on Sunday morning
Thank you, the service was sublime
Make toast and butter Let’s have a cuppa
I’ve just been to church online.
